This was the launch of the 1st annual fundraiser to help support our programs that spotlight, educate, and galvanize people to express their stories within our communities. The Literary Soiree to help widen the impact and further their mission of creating opportunities for those whose stories have been historically unheard or misrepresented. Through the annual HUEmankind FEST program which promotes kinship and kindness within the diverse local communities, and is sponsored by the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors and the Mayor’s Office of Los Gatos, they believe that a more complete and accurate story of Huemanity is created – thus, accurate cultural narratives within society translates into more inclusion and opportunities in local schools, workplaces and government agencies. The participation provides funding for AWỌ’s research, education and local services for youth and families.
